As of Feb. 1, James Cameron's "Avatar" has earned over 2.04 billion dollars in worldwide ticket sales.

Written and directed by renowned epic filmmaker James Cameron, "Avatar" was named the highest grossing film of 2009 and the all-time number one international grossing film on Jan. 15. It also remains the number 1 grossing film in box offices in its current seventh week in theaters.

As of Feb 1. "Avatar" has earned 595.8 million domestically. "Avatar" is thus projected to set the all-time domestic ticket sales record currently held by Cameron's other film, "Titanic", with 600.8 million dollars in ticket sales.

Besides for also winning "best movie drama" and "best movie director" at the Golden Globes, "Avatar" has obviously struck a chord with fans.

Taking a more futuristic, dramatic, and action-filled take on the classic cowboys and indians premise, Cameron has found a way to capture audience members' hearts when viewing the film.

Personally after seeing the film twice in 3-D and twice in 2-D, I recommend seeing the film in 3-D.

The 3-D showing is by far superior to the 2-D. 3-D allows you to see the film in new dimensions to feel close enough to the characters to feel multiple sentiments, including exhilaration when watching flying scenes with the characters flying their "ikran" dragons and sadness when a significant character is killed by the opposing side.

Thus, if you have not seen "Avatar" yet, join the millions of people that have invested in seeing the movie in theaters and take advantage of the 3-D showings while you still can. I am undoubtedly sure that "Avatar" will soon steal the all-time highest grossing domestic film award and could not recommend a better film to see in 2010. In agreement with Rogers and Ebert, "The New York Times", "The Huffington Post", CNN.com, and "The Examiner", I give "Avatar" 5 stars.
