So, how to put this delicately…I hate "pet parents".

There are numerous differences between owning a pet and parenting a child.

First, although you may buy a pet, buying a child is by and large a crime in the United States. So, we'll just say for argument's sake, that you cannot legally buy a child.

There are different connotations associated with buying an animal versus giving birth to a child. While on might love a pet a great deal, one would never be able to give birth or conceive an animal fetus. Which is why parents should feel more of a biological/mental obligation to care more about their children than their pets.

Second, children, for the most part, require parents to buy them clothes. Pets do not.

Come on now, no matter how much you might argue with me about this one, humans have no significant amount of hair/fur to cover their bodies in times of severe cold or to catch moisture to protect us from rain/snow, which is why we have to buy clothes.

A majority of animals, on the other hand, possess a great deal of hair an/or fur. This hair is easily used to insulate animals in the cold and to somewhat protect them from water. Thus, naturally possessing hair/fur, animals do not require any further insulation of clothes.

Third, humans have bigger brains. Children require more from parents: twelve years of formal education, clothes, more food, shoes, more attention, and more mental support. With bigger brains, parents should be more mentally invested in their children because they have the capacity to go out and do bigger and better things for the world than Rover would have the ability to do.

Fourth, pets just look silly in clothing and they probably hate wearing it, too. What ever happened to laissez faire? Animals have been living for billions of years without wearing clothing, so why do pet owners feel the constant need to dress their animals now?

Going for so long without wearing clothes or shoes, many animals would feel amiss not being able to have the pads on their feet come into contact with the ground when having to wear little shoes to absorb the friction.
